I love to allow your wedding to flow naturally and photograph all of the wonderful natural moments as they happen. By having all of your wedding guests at a winery or resort without the interruptions of moving from your church to your reception maximises my opportunities to do this.

Being at a vineyard or resort lets me photograph the atmosphere, the spontaneity when people are relaxed and enjoying the experience. I have time to be very creative and give you a complete set of authentic moments that piece together to form the narrative of your wedding day. This style of natural wedding photography becomes incredibly precious for people that would prefer an honest account of their special day to look back on and enjoy.

Planning and organising your Margaret River wedding.

To photograph wedding stories well, I love to get to know the people I am photographing and create a unique wedding plan with them for their day. I have photographed hundreds of Margaret River weddings and I can give my clients some great ideas that will benefit the style of wedding they would love. If someone wants very few directed photographs, I can assist them in ways to maximise the natural in the moment photos. Or maybe the bride would love some nice romantic photos with her husband but he hates being in front of the camera, I can help to make that work so everyone is happy.

On your wedding day, you can be confident that I will work behind the scenes photographing all the wonderful natural moments, until an agreed time where I will direct proceedings for the photos we have discussed together. That way the final product is precisely what you wanted and you have had a fantastic experience as well.

Can directed wedding photos be fun?

I personally feel that your experience with your photographer on your wedding day can only be fun and enjoyable. There can never be a time when you are tired, or “over it” because we have planned and discussed the duration of the photos and the type of photos we are aiming for all before your wedding day.

There is nothing awkward or staged in how I direct wedding photographs. In fact I can take direction to a level where it prompts moments of spontaneity and genuine emotion.

I fell in love with documentary photography when I was growing up in London and photographing the people in the city or workers along the docklands. A far cry from a beautiful luxury wedding in Margaret River but it’s where I refined my people skills to go unnoticed, blend in or build rapport with people instantly.
